Erick Fernando Paiva-Nouchi (EFPN) is a Nikkei Peruvian experimental artist and entrepreneur based in New York City. He is also Artistic Director for ASOBI NY, which he co-founded in 2013. EFPN started experimenting with video at the onset of his performative work under the name Rico Noguchi.

 

EFPN’s visual works have been featured by BBC World and screened in Germany, in Tokyo, Japan, and at different venues throughout New York City including La MaMa ETC, Theater for the New City, Dixon Place, The Eagle NYC and others. 

 

EFPN graduated magna cum laude from the Film & Media Studies program at Columbia University and holds a Salutatorian degree in Performing Arts from Kingsborough CC, CUNY where he was also presented with the Performing Arts Award for Excellence in the field. His work has also been recognized by the Asian American / Asian Research Institute in New York.
